This is NOT a recommendation but a BEWARE. I took a very pregnant English bulldog to Berks Animal Emergency in PA today. It all started at 2:00 P.M. I noticed Ellie dripping green fluids. A dreadful sign, it means the placenta is torn away from the puppies and the sooner you get the pups out the better the chance of survival. So I called Berks animal emergency and told them I what I have have, they said how soon can you be here, I said 15 min. They said OK we'll notify the Dr and get ready.
So I RUSHED! and made it by 2:15, they admitted us almost immediately and then took us to a room and we sat and sat and sat for 2½ hours!!!!!
I practically screamed at the nurses every 15 minutes, what is taking so long?
Poor Ellie was forced to be on a cold concrete floor the whole time... her belly and nipples were cold. She was also having contractions and was very miserable.
Finally at 5:00 P.M. they took her in and told me to go home.
Well at 6:30 I get a phone call, it's the Dr. saying he wants to introduce himself before he does the C-section! I just about fainted, why on earth is introducing himself way more important then taking care of my dog....
I have been crying all afternoon and I just had to vent.......
I am still waiting to hear the outcome
Brenda.... how is everything?
