So Last night Murphy was limping so bad he could barely walk. His hind legs were the problem. So I called the vet and they got me in today.
She said she couldn’t feel anything

Did his anal glands
Two shots
Nail trim
Body inspection lol

She prescribed carprofen caplets 100mg
And he will take a 1/2 twice a day with food.

I kept my Monday appointment because I knew we would be going back.

The husband will be dropping him off at 7:30 in the morning for them to put him under-which I am not stoked on. It will be his fourth time under. So in front of everyone at the vet I got my point across abut him going under and they need to take the proper pre cautions because he is a bulldog etc. the girls at the front desk were stoned faced, didn’t know what to say. So the vet made them put special notes in my chart.

My appt is at four but I’m off at 2:30 so I’ll be going then and if anything wait around to see what they found.

I asked well what happens if you don’t find anything.
She said most likely than not they will
So we will see

Glad he’s at least on something for pain.

His birthday is tomorrow
And she wants to put him on a diet.
Uhm we had plans for bananas and ice cream
I laughed at her.
So I opted for a pup o chino for an early birthday treat and then go from there. DE34EB83-D298-41A7-A13E-6FFE4AF8BB3E.jpegDE34EB83-D298-41A7-A13E-6FFE4AF8BB3E.jpegDE34EB83-D298-41A7-A13E-6FFE4AF8BB3E.jpegDE34EB83-D298-41A7-A13E-6FFE4AF8BB3E.jpeg5F2A7F09-0285-4CA0-A42F-AB74A45B5937.jpeg

Diet? Is he overweight? Doesn’t look like he should. I would figure out what’s wrong before putting any dog on a diet. Unless a dogs health issue is cause what he eats, well I get it. But if it’s not, I would figure out what’s wrong with him first. But that’s me. Keep us posted on the vet visit.

I mean I don’t think he’s over weight. But he’s my child. Everyone I see says he is.
He definitely has a lot of extra skin. Especially around his neck

We were walking out of petco one day and this lady turned around and said
Your dog is fat under her breathe.
Without skipping a beat my husband turned around and said no he’s not, your just a bitch, wasn’t aware that you owned bulldogs so mind your own business.
I about died from laughing.

give him a 1/3 of a cup. 3 times daily. So in total probly over 1 cup of food-they aren’t heaping but a little more full. She said the calorie intake. So I’m going to take a look at different foods etc.
Or see what’s going on with mine

The food change-overweight wasn’t because he was limping that was just a side note.

She said he may possibly have something wrong with his back
Hip dysplasia
Soft tissue injury
Etc
So I think she was giving us ideas so we could be prepared for whatever is found.

She wants him to lose 15 pounds!!! Forgot to mention that!

Post a photo of him from top view. 15lbs is a lot for a dog that eats a cup ish a day. Don’t forget to use turmeric n ginger in his food! Check out acana as it also has tripe in the kibble.

He eats grain free, beef & sweet potato from Costco. He does well on it with no allergies. And his snacks are bananas.
I don’t think I have a top view picture of him, I’ll get one tomorrow. He’s out at the moment. He’s 58 pounds and she wants him at 43. Not saying I’m going to listen to the woman. Especially coming out of winter, he will be outside more swimming and exercising more so!13203A0A-6185-48B0-8A37-B32272F380C1.jpeg13203A0A-6185-48B0-8A37-B32272F380C1.jpeg61C51C9A-8940-4746-B2C5-ECDF0BEA738C.jpeg1B7FE26B-961B-4BCA-896D-54C7211F9026.jpegCDBF7800-1725-40D7-B054-AC10E1CF9446.jpeg85BB6824-0D12-4655-8F6E-52CD63A01F25.jpegF9976C55-4113-4A51-B49C-A151EB05066F.jpeg10CE6706-D960-42E0-9040-93ED92E9A83B.jpeg0B32851D-E575-4672-914B-A99BE423B61C.jpegC427E621-A2F3-4174-A885-96BA6FFDC024.jpeg5C3D3EA0-21F3-4997-9A1B-CF4C0636B818.jpg0B32851D-E575-4672-914B-A99BE423B61C.jpeg33DD84F0-8DEF-461C-8E63-C4A7BCC94E99.jpeg4CB46DF6-3A65-4E1E-B8E4-6F5CA4D01A6A.jpeg

He’s definitely got a big chest! But I feel he has that bullie waist!

I give my 2 furballs 1/2 a banana every other day. Their snacks are, berries, tripe, veggies..... and one pound of raw frozen meat per day each.

Yes, that is a lot of weight to loose

You would almost have to starve him!!!!!

There's no way his nutritional needs could be met

Not to mention being adequate for him to heel

43lbs is smaller than Duke or Nyala. Yes, yours sure does have a very wide chest. I can’t see him eating less than what he’s eating now. Won’t make any sense for sure. Just make sure he gets exercises. Mind you if he has a hip issue or ligament you’ll need to be careful even on the exercises. Good long walks won’t harm him comparing to jumping n fast stops for a ball etc. till you don’t know what’s wrong he still needs to move.

Kimberlie Sending prayers for Murphy and hoping that he is feeling much better soon, and it turns out to be nothing too serious.

Sending prayers and hoping is is nothing serious.

How old is he? As for weight, I always go by the waistline... you want a nice V shape to it.

Post a picture from above as Helene said.. that will help us
