Spike is an 8 year old Bulldog and has had skin issues every year in which he has lost a few patches of fur with hotspot like areas. However this year he has has a severe skin issue and lost 90% of his fur. He has been prescribed steroid, antibiotics Crellio for Mange and Aquopel however we cant see if this is improving and the Vets have suggested to put him to sleep.

His itching appears to have stopped now and it looks like he is drying out but he is not looking great. He is on Grain free food with no chicken and only fish .

I have attached imaged the worst being now and the others are range back about 4 to 6 weeks

Anybody had same issues

I would bet that he has one of the worst cases of Demodectic Mange I've ever seen. Nexgard is the USA go to for Demodex. This did not happen over night and he is suffering badly from sorry Vet care. If he's still eating and happy and not in pain(hard to imagine that he isn't) then try dosing Nexgard. It will take 6-9 months to bring him around once the mites are under control. If you cannot get him on Nexgard(or something equally effective), let him go.
If this is not Mange, I have no answer except possibly some sort of autoimmune disease.

Poor, poor baby. Is he being treated by a Veterinary Dermatologist? I would try that if you haven't already. And I agree that if he's eating, drinking, sleeping, playing then don't take his life. Try a specialist. Sending love and healing vibes to Spike! I wonder if NuStock would help at all?

Oh my! Did they do a skin scrape to test for mites (mange) as Chip stated? Nu stock would totally help him in some level

Whoa, seriously….…these photos are heartbreaking.

This definitely wasn’t an over night thing n totally wasn’t treated well from your vet. Your last photos are the 90% covered you mentioned n wearing socks cause it’s also in his paw. He’s on high power meds which is also weakening his immune system. Poor thing can’t catch up. This dog is suffering.

What food and protein are you feeding? Is he on any medication for mange? Are you giving any probiotics?
