Me too, being an old fart now. Hearing aids are on my long list of medical needs. Many years making wood moldings with loud machinery has killed my hearing. In loud environments (especially in settings where there are lots of conversations going on) I just hear garbled noise. It's frustrating sometimes to miss out on conversations. I think, however, that it's sometimes a blessing.
Hearing aids are good. However, they make my tinnitus louder.
YIKES! My tinnitus is awful enough already. I'm not sure I could handle that. I suppose there are always trade-offs but that's another reason to put things off longer and keep on, "huh?...what?...come again?...pardon?...
