So a a neighbor saw the way duke like to lay on his belly front and rear legs completely extended out- as do all bully's from what I've seen. Duchess laid like that all the time when she was his age. Anyway she was like that's not good to let him lay like that. Said its bad for his hips. Can anyone chime in on this?

I think it is a comfortable position for them...Not to mention cute as heck! Brie dies it all the time. Whether it is bad for their hips or not, I've no idea. I've never heard that.

I have never heard of it being bad for them. It also helps with cooling on tile and wood floors as it allows more of thier belly to be in contact with the floor surface which is a good thing.

Dudley is laying like that right now...and seems completely happy and at ease. I never heard it was bad for their hips! I'm sure if someone knows...they'll chime in and we can all find out! That's why I love this forum.

I figured as much like I said duchess laid like that all the time and still does at 16 months old- just a case of a noisy neighbor that knows everything!

Both of mine lay like that and I also have never heard that it could be bad for the hips...

I have heard just the opposite. But maybe some of our more experienced owners can weigh in on this one. Davidh JeannieCO desertskybulldogs

Hi, both my guys sleep like this a lot too, they seem to be very comfy in this position. I haven't heard that rumor either that its bad fir their hips. I don't think they would lie in that position if its was uncomfortable for them

I have never heard of it hurting their hips or anything else for that matter.

I wouldn't worry - it's the classic "frog dog" position!

Now, if you notice your bully's legs behind them while sitting upright...it could be cause for concern with the hips but otherwise, I'd just enjoy the cuteness!

Hardly ever is Loki laying with his front legs and back in the same direction unless he is chewing on his bone. I think is pretty normal for our bullies

It is the classic position for Bulldogs..... I refer to it as the 'H"' position (look at it from above... thye look like the letter H). Never heard of it being bad for the hips at all

I'm over no help here except to say my bully lays like that all the time as well.

It's the "superman" pose. Luca does it every day. Doesn't seem to bother him. I don't know if it's bad for their hips, honesty. A good stretch never hurt anybody.

Brutus always lays like this. He looks like a turkey ready for stuffin!
