So........ some of you know we bought a new car, my old car that I have owned since '98 a Pontiac Grand Prix supercharger was in rough shape but man it flew!!!! , but I didn't want a car payment. Car looks fantastic due to living in FL. and not having to deal with weather elements but........Driver's side window would not roll down ($350.00 to fix) and air not working (cylinder $900.00) other than that great shape, leather interior with no rips etc.....

Posted it this afternoon for sale on Craigslist, got a call within 15 minutes, CASH ONLY, and the guy came and bought it. He knows a great mechanic and what he does is buy cheap car's for his church, has them fixed, (funded from his church) and gives them to needy church members. We ask a certain price, he of course tried to get us down. We actually went $50 below what our "fixed" price was.

He left to go get another driver and I was so taken by his church story and it seemed so sincere and honest, that when he came to pick it up I gave him $50 bucks to donate to his church. Joe was totally against this, saying he already gave him a break by coming down the extra 50, but his cause was so sincere. This car has been paid off for years so not like Im loosing anything. Joe is not happy with me........ME??? I feel very good about it, and I have no regrets. What do you all think? Am I being a sucker???? It was my car in my name.

No not a sucker, and like me you have a great big heart, and always want to beleive that people are good and honest. If you feel good about it, and it goes to a good cause then even better. Maybe you'll never know if he was telling the truth or to, but you can feel good that you potentially helped someone. Continue to be the good person you are and you can never go wrong.

I totally agree with Monica, whether or not it was true, if it is then you did a wonderful deed and service to his church. Yep, you are a good egg. :)

Congrats on the quick sale, Kelly!!

Definitely not a sucker! you did what your heart told you to do and that speaks volumes about the kind of person you are. Good job all around!! :bravo:

NOPE I don't believe you are a sucker!!! My hubby & I have had this discussion many times… it doesn't matter if this guy is telling the truth or not, what matters is that you gave from the heart & that's what God sees!!! Whatever happens after that is on that guys conscience NOT yours ;)

Kelly, you're not a sucker, you have a good heart. ;) Congratulations on the sale!

You are one fantastic lady with a wonderful heart! Congrats on the sale!

Well if it made you feel happy then it was worth it. Your no sucker at all.

You are not a sucker Kelly! Like others said you have a big heart. ( a sucker is a person who buys man panties in a bulldog auction)

Kelly you are No Sucker just someone with a huge heart. and a very nice person

50 bucks is a small price to pay for feeling good. Nobody knows for sure where their money goes when they donate it. What's important for your soul is your intention in giving it.

Your heart is in the right place ... And u will be rewarded in heaven sucker or not !

I agree with everyone. And I would also look at it this way: maybe just maybe his intentions with your $50 donation was less than honorable and by you giving your hard earned money on good faith would inspire him to do the right thing and pay it forward. Great job either way. You should feel great. Giving is a great way to cleanse your soul.
