OK so i have a question

I just got my puppy 2 weeks ago. My fiance just went home to let him out and eat and he said his lil peepee appears red and swollen and is leaking a lil bit of stuff. I asked him how he is acting and he said real lathargic. Any ideas on what is going on with my lil guy? I am currently waiting for the vet to be open after their lunch hour so i can get an appointment but i thought here was as good as place as any to ask questions! Thanks for any help you can give me in advance.

Ohhh sorry I just saw this. I don't have experience with it..but I have read where others have. They can get infections and have a discharge with the redness and swelling. I don't think it's too serious, but a trip to the vet would be my recommendation. Let us know!

Vet will probably give him some antibiotics.... don't be overly worried at this point. Let us know what the vet says.

What is leaking?? Yellow ?? what color is it?? Can you take a picture

Is he still urinating OK? It is better to take him to the vet anyway, but if he can't urinate, in a hurry.

I too have heard of infections because they are so low to the ground when they crouch to pee! I'm glad you're calling the vet though because the description of him being lethargic would have me worried too.

thank you everybody he is going to the vet saturday morning. I havent seen the little guy yet i dont get out of work untill 5 so my daughter is with him untill i get there I will update as soon as i get home and spend some time with my lil guy.

How lethargic? Is he eating and drinking? Can you get your fiance back on the phone? we need a little more information on this stuff. Oh, and

the vet will probably ask for a urine sample...just a heads up.

If the vet DOESN'T ask for a urine sample... find a new vet

Yes he is eating and drinking fine he just isnt his playfull bundle of joy right now he just really wants to lay down and not do much. Maybe it is sore??

I think if he's eating and drinking and otherwise acting like himself..a Saturday vet appt is fine. Just keep your great watchful eye on him!
