I had a hand-raised military macaw in my 20's that I just loved! Your baby is beautiful! If they weren't so noisy, I'd have one now. lol
After 4 years, I gave my macaw to a family of females because he hated men. They kept him for several years, and then I learned that they gave him to a wildlife rescue group. I am picturing him living his days in a huge, natural outdoor setting with lots of feathered friends!!! That's the thing with birds. They live so long, you really have to make accommodations for them, should they outlive you.
