My grand dogs

These are my beautiful grand dogs. Their noses are a bit long for my tastes!


This is Lila, who lost a rear leg to cancer and just had her last chemo treatment.

the other Bassett is Annabelle. Both of them were rescues.

Love Bassets!! The last dog I owned was a Basset, Shelby lived until she was 12. I didnt own another dog for 7 years until I got Vegas

Well, I guess these are "honorary bulldogs". That is so sweet that they are both rescues! Happy to hear Lila is doing better after her cancer treatment! Is that common in basset hounds?

They have my favorite bark! "Ba-roo-roo-roo!" Lila is afraid of most people, but Anabelle never met a stranger. She was a bitch in a puppy mill who was turned loose in Texas when the mill was raided. She was pregnant when she was found, but one of the puppies was caught in the birth canal and the litter was lost. She had wandered for so long, had so many litters, and her legs were so short, that she had worn off two of her nipples (ouch!). They found out she had buckshot in her from being shot, too. The rescue org. not only had her spayed, heart worm treated, and infections treated, but they did a tummy tuck so her belly wouldn't drag on the ground. It is amazing how dogs can be so abused and still trust people.
