My Charlotte has a boo-boo! Need advice.

Hello everyone, just noticed that my girl has a "lump" on her rt flank right on top. I touched it and she tried to scratch...and was shying away. Impression it hurts or is uncomfortable. It's hard to touch. Looked reddish but hard to tell under hair although she's all white. She is calmer than usual. I have a vet appointment but just curious if there is something common it may be... A bee sting? Bug bite? Abscess? Just a boo-boo?

Thoughts, ideas or suggestions welcome.

Thanks! Lots of great info here. I tried the picture but can't see much but a hairy bump. Reluctant to shave her hair in that spot and potentially worsen whatever it is.

I'm glad your going to the vet. Lumps can be alot of different things. If it looks irritated, you can give benedryl, 1mg per pound of bully! So a 50lb bully can safely have 2 pills.

It could be a few things, but since she shys away and seems to hurt, I would get a vet to look at it. I hope it is nothing serious.... if you get a photo, please post.

Any chance she's had any shots in that area recently? (Kevin bump #1)
Kevin lump #2 was a little more scary... but common. The key is to get it checked ASAP.

Update:: it's just thankfully a small bacterial skin infection...some medicated shampoo every other day and better again!

I'm so glad Miss Charlotte was diagnosed and is getting the right treatment. I hope she feels better soon.
