Hello folks , just joined

I'm a little concerned about my little boy Hugo not putting on much weight ???? And any help would be appreciated

He is 2 years old and as far as I know is a healthy boy ,
His appetite is good and always eats his dinner with no problems ?

He is currently on frozen raw and has been since he was little and gets 2 decent positions per day ??? Is this enough ?

However I don't feel he is putting enough weight on ?

Also he seems to have acid reflux a lot and seems to do this a lot ???

Any help would be massively appreciated

Thank you

Can you post a picture of him from above that we can see his waistline? There is a misconception that bulldogs should be "fat" when really you want them lean but ribs not showing.

Yes a photo from above would help 👍

Btw, a raw diet is the best. Dogs tend to be more lean because it’s all protein. Only last rib might be slightly seen n that’s ok. But like Christine mentioned, people think bulldogs has to be more rounded. Dogs are better off on the slim side and avoid health issues especially this breed.

Regarding weight, someone told me for bulldogs, if looking down from above as they are standing on all fours, if a bulldog has a discernable waist, then there weight is OK, is this a real thing?

Try 3 or 4 meals instead of 2 meals per day? High-calorie Peanut butter etc. helps gain weight too.

He was on raw but we have since changed to royal canine bulldog but he don't seem to finish it straight away ?? But when on raw he absolutely hammered it

Thanks

Hugo looks good. How much does he weigh? Ideal weight 25-27 kgs.

BTW Happy Holidays
Hey thanks and I'm not sure will need to get him weighed again as beena while , I'm guessing he might be about 23 kg but that's just a guess lol

And happy holidays
Thanks

Sorry Why did you have to switch to RC from raw? RC really isn’t a good food and your boy might gain weight because of all the fillers. I’d stay on raw snd just cut back the amount you feed. He looks good but might be ok losing maybe 3-5 lbs

Agree with @2BullyMama Totally not fit for any dog. Stay away from royal canine, science hill n anything that Purina makes. It’s all fillers n grains. Dogs need protein n you should have kept him on Raw. Now you know why he’s not eating RC. Your dog doesn’t need to gain weight he looks good.

Thank you and changed because he was getting really bad acid reflux , however just gave him it today again and he hammered it no problem so will stick with that

Thanks

Thank you , appreciated and we thought Rc was decent after looking at reviews of it ,, however he went back to his raw this morning with no problems

We also just bought a gorgeous little girl Hattie who is 14 weeks ??

We got her 2 large bags of Rc puppy bulldog but now I'm thinking it's a mistake also 😔
Should I keep her away from this also ??? And give her raw also ??

She is a proper little madam and loves her sleep 😴 😴 😴 😴

Really appreciated folks

Get cutie pie on raw. No need to have kibbles especially RC. Get marrow bones, not the joints as it crumbles stools n can choke on hidden parts. Freeze them n give them frozen. Also great for teething n immune system.
