Hello Everyone! I'm hoping someone can give us some advice. We have a 14 week old English bulldog puppy. He's very loving and affectionate ā€“ he's teething at the moment, so does bite and nip us which is completely normal. However, he has these 'episodes' where something switches and he'll start jumping, barking and biting myself and my partner. We have tried yelping and showing it hurts, but he continues to go to bite us. It's like something comes over him and he gets the 'crazies' ā€“ like a mist comes over him. We direct him to his toys but still continually goes for us both. Has anyone else experienced this / have any tips?

Heā€™s a tad young to be thinking heā€™s the alpha. It can happen though n you need to show him whoā€™s boss.

That being said, have you checked in his ears for redness, gunk or funky smell? Also when theyā€™re teething it can hurt a lot. Have tried giving him little ice cubes he can chew on? Them toys you freeze are great for teething. I also kept and still do, frozen marrow bones. Theyā€™ll chew that for hrs. Saves furniture, arms, feet lolll

Training is part of itā€¦ use ā€˜nothing in life is freeā€ training technique.

Also, drain his energy.. walks, play fetch, take for a car ride.

We got our pup this time last year and can remember all too well after first month or 2, after the sleepy lovely little puppy phase thinking dear God what have we done? He became a landshark who just wanted to bite everyone and everything in his path!
So don't panic! It will settle. Our boy is now 1 and still gets the crazies but is very gentle and sweet and no more biting.

As someone else mentioned draining their energy is oh so important! Also distraction. But when ours got really crazy we would give him a time out in his crate. Took a while but he soon learned that if he was getting rough with the kids or my partner or me, he would be taken out of situation and playtime was over.

As I said he is now the perfect gent! And we can't Imagine a world without him! Also considering going through it all again and getting another pup!
Good luck and stay strong.
