UPDATE: Jewel had her monthly follow-up and her bloodwork was ok except her alk phosphate which is elevated and had to be diluted to read it. Prednisone is the culprit. We were advised to start the Zofran and Pepcid and give her a week break from the Palladia (chemo) which we did; however, Jewel responded with little poops all over the house. Little pudding puffs. Yesterday, I was checking Jewel and got a handful of blood from 1 of 2 lesions I found. We stopped the Zofran and we have not had any surprises so far. We were at our regular vet today and discussed this with our vet. Jewel has developed a dermatitis. Since Jewel's quality of life is diminished by at least 50%, we are going to halt this treatment as it was prophylaxis in the first place. This was previously discussed with the Oncologist and the dermatitis is the straw that broke the camel's back.

Thanks EBN for prayers and well wishes.

Lighting is not too good but to show the shaved part of the dermatitis.

Poor little Jewel. Goes through all sorts and now this. I know when my son was a child he developed eczema. Days was blood n bad blisters. He had all sorts of meds, creams, soaps etc etc.... Kept coming back. We decided to use bag balm the “green” tin can. I swear Roger it healed way faster that any meds doctors n specialist gave him. It disappeared after a couple months n once it was under control he would only rub his feet for maintenance before going to bed. It completely disappeared. Duke had continuous indigital cyst between his toes. I did all sorts and found that same green tin can in the back of the closet. Barely any left, I used it on his IC and within 2 days they dried up. If I’m not mistaken it’s made in Vermont. Bag balm was invented for milking cows and when their nipples crack in blood, the farmers would use this balm to relieve pain, chapping and more. It’s the one that says antiseptic on the can. Just a thought. :). Sending lovely Jewel positive thoughts n vibes. :)
