Jewel 8 Weeks Post ACL Repair

Jewel is still on injured reserve. She had her 8-week check-up today in Annapolis with the orthopedic vet following her ACL surgery or TPLO. She gained a pound since her last visit (61 lbs). X-rays and physical exam indicate she is healing well. She has good range of motion (ROM) and we were advised we can discontinue the ROM exercises. She still needs to be on a leash and is allowed to roam the house; however, no jumping to include on furniture, climbing stairs, and/or running. We can increase her walking distance starting with a quarter of a block and work up to a mile (not my Jewel--only walk a bulldog as far as you want to carry them).

Jewel will have her next follow-up in 6 weeks.

Great news!! But how do you keep her off the furniture? That's always been my biggest fear. These ACL injuries are so common with our bullies, I just wouldn't know how to keep him calm.

That is excellent news, I was wondering the same as Blueberrys Mom how do you stop her from trying to get on the furniture?

Well one of us sits with her on the floor. If both of us are out of the room we put her in a pen.

My wife picked up on Amazon. IRIS indoor/outdoor plastic pet pen w/4panels.

You still need to supervise b/c Jewel can bully it around.
