It's official, Vegas Can't/Won't swim.

I go today and bought Vegas a life jacket so he could get in the pool with me. First of all he HATED the jacket on and ran straight to his crate and pouted, secondly I go out to our pool with him, pull him in the water (While still holding on to him) and OMG!! He went spazzo!!! Not only was he kicking his legs, but he was gasping for air, although his head was above water. He shredded my stomach and legs with his nails that I just had done yesterday. I seen him under much distress and got him out, took the vest off and he coughed so hard that he puked by the pool. Again not once was his head under water and his neck piece was NOT to tight. Total Stress. Im taking the jacket back tomorrow and Im just giving up getting him in to the pool. I have a 4 ft. baby gate completely surrounding my pool and it looks like it will remain forever. Poor boy it scared the crap out of him.

This is him pouting with the vest on, he wont look at me.

Aww poor Vegas, he's like mine they just hate water. If he's going to be so stressed out, it's better that he stays on dry land. That's some major stink eye he gave you over his vest, but he looks so darn cute in it. Your scratches look sore. I hope your okay, and I'm sure Vegas will get over it, although he may never go near the pool again.

WOW..... Poor Vegas, I would have never expected that reaction from him as he always sat on the step of the pool. So glad you are both OK, minor scratches,but ok. Give Vegas a big hug from me

Vegas will remain on the top step where he is happy, I will never, ever traumatize him again trying to get him in the water. My scratches are fine, they don't even hurt, I just showed show my big fat belly to Joe and he said OMG Veg, tore you up, Yep.

Poor thing. Well if nothing going else he sits on the top step so if that's OK with him still. Ya that stink eye is hilarious. He looks mad and disappointed in you. Like how could you.

Mine hated the vests almost as much as water. I even had matching blue/pink polka life vests for them. I am just not sure why Arnold hated it, lol. Poor Vegas!!

Poor baby! He looks so precious and sweet in his crate, though. I'm sure he will recover fine from all the stress but it's so interesting how some of our bullies just love the water whereas others hate it. I guess it's a lot like us humans and our own likes and dislikes.
