He is such a sweet boy. He has been fine with my Cocker Spaniel. They have just walked around. It was so funny when Bentley, the bulldog, went to sleep and began to snore. Milo, the cocker , didn't know what the sound was, barked and startled Bentley awake! Poor guy. :sillyboy:

He has what appears to be some hot spots and is shedding like crazy. If anyone has suggestions until I can get him into the vet, I would appreciate it. He was kinda stinky so I gave him a bath when we got home.

:welcome4:Hi Kalyn, welcome to you, Bentley, and Milo. Thank you so much for rescuing these babies, and giving them a loving home they deserve. You'll love it on EBN. You'll find lots of great information, and everyone is really great at answering your questions, concerns, and sharing their advice and experience. Looking forward to seeing more of you guys on here. Please share lots of pictures. I don't have any experience with hot spots, but know that it can be a weakened immune system. You can start by giving him a bath, just not sure which medicated shampoo to use for hot spots, a member with experience with this should answer this for you soon. The vet will also be able to tell you how to treat this. I would use apple cider vinegar as a rinse after his bath, it is very good for the skin and coat. Which brand of food is Bentley currently eating? Go to the home page and read the article on Dog Food Ratings. It lists all the dog food brands and gives them a star rating, you want to feed your guy a 4 star or better rating, the higher the star #, the higher the quality of the food. Examples of these foods are Fromm's, Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Orijen, and Go Natural. A lot of bullies are allergic to chicken, and grains, so try to find a food that doesn't have a chicken based protein, and is grain free. We also add plain unsweetened yogurt to the morning kibble for the probiotics, it is great for digestion, and it boosts the immune system which helps them fight infections and allergy symptoms.

What a handsome boy! love those ears!!

Stink, hotspots and shedding... OH MY all equals, bad food. Monica gave you some great info ... do some reading and see what food you want to go with and once you find the right one (may take a few trys) he will be free of all those issues.

Thank you for being a RESCUE Momma!

:welcome2: to EBN!!! Bentley is absolutely adorable, look at those EARS!!! If you could show us some pics of the hot spots that would help… What part of KY do you live in? I'm in Western TN very close to the TN/KY border...

Welcome to EBN. Watch out for 2BullyMama, she has a chocolate chip ear fetish!!

:Welcome: Arnold gets a few spots and sheds after the first few days of nice spring weather. After a few Benadryl tablets and he adjusts, the allergy symptoms disappear. OH, and oatmeal bath!!
