From a breeder....
Is that time of the year again, it's getting hot .. that means potential for a heat stroke , whether your @ home/taking your dogs to the park or a show , have this items available @ all times .. Signs of a heat stroke: tongue turns blue or gums bright red or white, glaze eyes , excessive drooling, rapid heart rate , dizziness or lack of coordination, fever , lethargy and loss of consciousness, collapse or experience convulsions, exhibit vomiting or diarrhea .
What do you do if you suspect your dog is having a heat stroke ? Move your dog to a cool shaded area , squirt lemon juice in the dogs mouth and back of the throat. This will help clear the air way of saliva mucus and foam that are blocking the air way .
Lay the dog down wipe the under belly down with water this should help to start the cooling process. DO NOT DRENCH THE DOG WITH COLD WATER THIS COULD SEND THEM INTO SHOCK !! Pour the rubbing alcohol over the dogs paws and this will help to draw the heat out of the dogs body . Try to give water but don't force it . Lastly get your dog to the vet immediately. I'm not a vet but know this has helped us breeders.
