My Legs Might Be Crooked, but My Smile Will Melt Your Heart!
Hi, Iām Hadley, but my CEBR friends sometimes call me Haddie, or Hadley Hopalong, or Hadley Bear. Iām so darn cute I need all those names. I was born last July in a horrible puppy mill. I was not the product of good breeding, but rather inbreeding and poor standards and no attention to quality genetics, so I was born with severely deformed front legs and some issues with my back legs as well. Thanks to the dedicated volunteers of CEBR, not only am I getting more love than I ever knew was possibleāIām getting the best medical attention there is.
I am on my way to better ambulation; I donāt like long walks but short walks are fun and I love to roll in the grass. I am going to see specialists over the course of the coming months to establish a surgical plan to help me straighten my legs. Also, eye drops help lubricate my eyes, which I like to squint because I smile a lot. Once all is said and done I will be just perfect (oh wait, Iām pretty perfect anyway arenāt I?).
Now let me tell you a little secret. My legs might need some work but my charming personality and hilarious antics should be right up there in the puppy hall of fame. I am still teething and love Nylabones and tough chew toys. I even fetch! Since Iām low to the ground, I think I could be a ringer on a soccer team. I think human beings and dogs and even cats should all get down on the ground and play andāOH, YEAHāscratch my soft, soft tummy. I have a foster sister but sheās really old and doesnāt want to play, even though I really encourage her! I have been to several bulldog meet ups and have had a great time socializing. Sometimes I get a little too worn out, I guess like human toddlers do. Once Iām worn out, count on me to cuddle like a champ. Did I mention how soft my spotted coat is?
Iām working on my potty training and am already up to date on my vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. It will be some time before I am ready for my forever home but if you think you might be a good fit for me (or other CEBR bullies), please apply now. Letās get this love match started!
