What was stated above, most important is your food. I supplement Ace off and on with Nuvet. Seems that most of the members here use Nuvet if they are supplementing. I honestly never saw a huge difference in coat, energy, etc. The biggest difference is when I switched him to Fromms Lamb and Lentil. I had tried pink bag, beef frittata, pork and peas, TOW with major shedding issues. TOW gave him really bad burgundy tear stains and started to turn his paws burgundy. I'm assuming the sweet potato. When we switched, his shedding drastically reduced, tear stains improved. I know he has allergies cause he will wipe his face here and then.
