Bulldog adoption in the U.K.

Thankyou, you must all be sick of my woes by now sorry, but it’s looking like this adoption won’t happen. It’s a shame because other than the charity owner checking out the pictures which was more a formality it was a foregone conclusion.
We’d had a really good chat on the phone particularly about bullies and bull breeds and Freya who I’d told her had elbow dysplasia and food allergies, she asked which vets I’d used so I automatically said vets 4pets.
She’d said she would get back to me after a few days I heard nothing but I do know the small run charities are busy.
After another look on her website I noticed they do checks with your vets too!
It’s been over a week now, I’ve left a voicemail but heard nothing back. I’m hoping I’m worrying over nothing but the whole situation has been completely out of hand and with Vets 4 pets involvement I’m worried it’s going to mess this up for me too 😢 just when things were starting to look up.
I have never been in a situation like I have these past months and I don’t know anyone else who has either. All this because my neighbours have a hatred of bull dogs and are spiteful gossips.
Even the police, wardens here and now the housing manager are all disgusted, unfortunately their hands are tied.
Adoption is a long tough road… try to be patient and maybe apply at several places if you can. Your new love will eventually come

I am looking around but it’s finding a dog i truly feel will be the right match for me and me for her/ him. I don’t think it could have been a better match. Her previous owner sadly died, a woman around my age living the same kind of life, having experience with bulldogs and a real love and understanding of their unique personalities health issues and traits. She actually said that i would be perfect for her. The only thing i don’t have is my garden fenced, but i told her how i work round that and she was happy with that and said it wasnt an issue .
Maybe its not meant to be.

As you said, they are all volunteers, work other jobs and rescue/shelters are so overwhelmed…. I know it’s hard, but try to be patient šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»

Normally I wouldn’t be so worried it’s just with all that’s gone on. Maybe i should write a script and have it turned into a made for tv film .
I think as well I’m struggling with the whole thing with Freya, I really feel like I’m just throwing her away by considering adopting again. I’m worried what if I find I can’t bond with another dog because of her? That would be cruel to the dog.
At the same time I’m really struggling without her not just for the obvious reasons but it’s also affecting my mental health, I struggle with PTSD and severe social anxiety.
Freya helped me so much with that, she’s very sensitive and special and of course having a dog means having to go outdoors regularly for walks. Anxious and panic or not.
I have some physical health problems too and the walks and playtime helped a lot with that and I dont know how but she helped me with my insomnia too. We have such a close bond closer than with any other dog or pet I’ve had in my 56 years.
I’m sure you all must have experienced that? No matter how much you love and bond with I think there is always one that stands out just that bit more.
Unless it’s me that’s not very nice !

Sorry for always going on but I know very few dog lovers and only one person who loves bulldogs which are my passion
