Brett & Logan 👼🏻🌈(1/3/05-05/1/21)
Brett is 15 weeks old weighing 20.6 lbs. When is it safe to start taking vitamins? Also if anyone can suggest supplements EB supposed to take I would really appreciate it! Thanks and happy Sunday!

You can start Brett on a supplement… we use NuVet Plus for our dogs.

we use NuVet Plus with Lambeau and he is 16 weeks old today!

How about fish oil? He still too young for that, correct? Coz I take fish oil supps and capsules are huge.

I have not thought about it, but is should not be an issue. I tag a few members for their input

If you want to give fish oil, and they are gel caps, you can put a hole in the cap, and squeeze it onto his food.

This is is what I do. Though, I just purchased fish oil liquid (non-gel caps) from Amazon, which should be a bit easier.

As others have said you can give the NuVet. We used to give ours HardyPet, but haven't in a while, plus we don't give fish oil either, they didn't like it.

That's what I do. It can get a little messy until you master the "not spraying yourself with fish oil" technique of cutting them open. I drizzle 3 capsules over Ruckus's breakfast every morning.

LOL! Using a safety pin to prick it makes it a lot easier.

Yeah I used to do a pin prick but felt like I was leaving a lot in the capsule. Then I started cutting them and most certainly sprayed my work clothes with fish oil a few time. I think now I've found a happy medium and just accept that I'm not going to get 100% of it out.

Most important is using a great dog food... You'll find plenty of info on this site about it, but a good dog food is most important vs giving supps.. Welcome to a great breed..
