Welcome!! You got everything in a nutshell from Chip. If you can go raw, go for that instead. In the search button above, you’ll find most of the time everything in there. And everyone is here to help too. Yes pics pics pics when Billy gets home.

Welcome and congratulations! You've received the best advice above, nothing to add except PHOTOS PLEASE :)

No, as long as on can control him with the harness and he walks well with it, meaning nit needing correction... the harness is fine. My guys are always naked in the house, but walks are martingale collars because they like to TRY and out walk each other so corrections are needed at times

Welcome and congratulations!
Pictures pictures pictures are a must!! Lol

I keep collars on all the time cause both are very active and when they start going after one another I can grab the collar. When I walk both, Nyala is hooked on a harness n Duke a choker. Takes about 1/2 a km for him to realize “no pulling or I get a quick tug”. Once he knows he’ll get tug he walks perfectly side by side with Nyala. Like mentioned a harness is if you have control of your dog. Some dogs simply takes longer to learn.

My guys don’t wear anything in the house. Louie wears a martingale collar for walks around the neighborhood but a harness when we go to parks, etc.

@cbrigs helsonwheels 2BullyMama This is the most awesome forum ever! The comaraderie is everything! Can’t wait to become a 4Paw Member.

When Nyala was like a year old I found a winter jacket and the hook was in the back where the butt is. The idea of the hook on the butt is brilliant because I realized when you give them a quick tug it completely throws them off balance cause the back legs are not following the front ones..

All excellent suggestions !
Would also add:
1) Crate dog when you aren't around as bulldogs are notorious for chewing walls, wiring, remote etc.
2) Have lots of chew toys around, initially the Nylabone Puppy teething keys are great https://www.nylabone.com/products/product-type/chew-toys/puppy-chew/puppy-teething-keys . Later on you can add harder chew toys like adult Nylabones, frozen marrow bones, regulation lacrosse balls, Planet Orbee Tuff Sol, Kong toys etc
3)Have some first aid supplies and a few other products in house:
a) unscented diaper wipes to clean wrinkles and tail pocket if present
b) Kong ZoomGroom brush
c) diaper rash cream (eg. Zincofax)
d) Polysporin or Vetericyn eye drops
e) Neosporin ointment or Nu-Stock ointment
f) ketoconazole and chlorhexidine shampoo (eg. Ketohex or Curaseb )
g) Coban wrap and gauze pads for first aid
h) Povidone (Betadine ) solution
i) Apple cider vinegar and witch hazel and round cosmetic pads for cleaning of ears
