(drum roll please) introducing....our first foster............TANK

Yes, Tank seems to be a popular name with this breed...wonder why? I don't know much about him besides his owners dropped him off at the worst pound in the world about a week before we got him. Tank is 6 years old but has more energy than Mona! They said they couldn't take care of him anymore. He has an upper respiratory infection that he has meds for but it doesn't seem to be working. Thursday was the soonest the vet could see him for a check up.

Here you go:

This is Tank, in my Jeep going home (it was almost 100 degrees outside!)

This is Tank showing what a good boy he can be

Frog legs at their best!

This is Tank and Momo having a heart to heart about who's boss around here

He is beautiful!!! Muzzies Muzzies Muzzies!!!

He is awesome!!! Best of luck with him! Thank you for being a foster home for these sweet babies.

PS -- Mono does not seem happy at all --

Oh he's too adorable! He is cheesin' in that first one, he must know he's got a new home and lots of love coming his way! :) Congratulations!

Congrats. Tank is a sweetie and he'll thrive in your -- and Momo's -- care. I really admire you foster folks. Its a selfless thing you guys do.

Thanks everyone for all the wonderful words of support and encouragement...it's needed! Twice & 2BullyMama this is hard work and my hat goes off to both of you (and other fosters). I don't know if its because of the meds that Tank takes but this boy has a hollow leg! If I don't take him out every 3-4 hours he has an accident in the house. I took him out at 8 last night and at 10 he peed on the floor and partially on his bed. Sleep? What's sleep? I honestly don't know how I'm going to take care of him with my school schedule. I've got several days where I'm at school from noon to 9pm. I'm gonna have to rush home, let him out, then rush back to school. I have to keep him leashed up to me so he doesn't go get into things. He hasn't been in his crate since Saturday but I had to put him in there now so I can get some projects done around the house. Deep Sigh.

edited to fix spelling errors:eek:

What meds is he on? That probably has a lot to do with it.

I'm late here and cannot see his pics on the computer I'm on, but i'm really in admiration of you for taking this little boy in and please hang in there! I'm sure it's overwhelming especially with your schedule but you and Tank met for a reason...it's fate that you saved him from the shelter. We're here for you too, I know you're doing beautifully with him!

Thanks again everyone for the words of support and encouragement! They really do mean a lot.
Tank had his vet visit and this boy is too cute. He waltz into that vet office like he owned the place! Twice - come to find out, per the vet, this boy is more like 3 yo than 6 and he should be able to hold his pee for 8 hours. So....I've been told "no more bedroom time!" Tank has to re-learn create training and in the crate at night he goes. Thank goodness! I can sleep soundly tonight and not worry that he's gonna pee all over the floor and then I'm gonna slip on it when I get up. He's snoring away as I type. He's growing on us, well, on Linnet & I, Mona is still busy telling him who's boss. LOL

Congratulations and you have my admiration for becoming a foster.

A POEM TO MY FOSTER DOG

By Diane Morgan

I am the bridge,
between what was and what can be.
I am the pathway to a new life.

I am made of mush,
because my heart melted when I saw you,
matted, sore, limping, depressed
lonely, unwanted, afraid to love.

For one little time you are mine.
I will feed you with my own hand.
I will love you with my whole heart.
I will make you whole.

I am made of steel.
because when the time comes,
when you are well, and sleek,
when your eyes shine,
and your tail wags with joy
then comes the hard part.

I will let you go - not without a tear,
but without a regret.
for you are safe forever--
A new dog needs me now!
