This may be premature (and I pray and pray that it is) but I want to be prepared (with info, not hardware) for the event that Gator looses the use of his back legs. Does anyone have a dog in a wheelchair. I have been looking at them online but am unsure of the comfort level of some of these. What should I look for?

Thank you in advance.

You know what, there's a bulldog on fb who has swimmer's legs and he wears a customized 'wheelchair'. His name is Griffin. Look it up, his page will definitely make you smile. There's no stopping that boy. He was rescued by a fabulous couple and pretty much spoils him rotten.

Oh I found a vid!

Wanted to add that there's a few shops throughout the country that specializes in the hardware that you'd need, just in case.

Betty... contact a rescue, they have experience with them or know of a person that does.

No worries :clap2: :goodpost: savemejeebus

I've never had a dog in on wheels but I did have a rabbit once who used them. Riley had a heat stroke and his front legs splayed because of it. I got a set of wheels from one of the rescue's and once we had it adjusted for him there was no stopping him. I wish I still had the pictures of him using it.

savemejeebus That is so precious. Look at that boy go!!

savemejeebus, I would love to find out what kind of chair that is or who built it. It is amazing and very nice compared to others I have looked at so far. Hopefully we will not need it EVER but it is a possibility at this point and I just want something comfortable, safe, and of good quality. I have noticed that in some carts, they cannot go to the bathroom which would not work, others have wheels that just seem too small to me and not stable enough kwim? I wish I could talk to them!

Wow, that Griffin is inspiring!

GatorRay on Griffin's Facebook page they have a link to Eddie's Wheels website. I believe that is who made Griffin's ride.

GatorRay Betty, I shared a page I found on FB in the English bulldog news group about a man that builds them in Ft. worth, TX. I would put on here but on my iPad and don't know how to copy it here. Go check it out and see what you think.

Thanks David! I will go check it out!

I have been looking at Eddie's wheels and they look pretty good. I can't find him on facebook! What should I search?
