That is one thing I don't understand about show preparation. Why shave their whiskers off? How is that supposed to enhance their look? I reeeeeeeeeeeeally don't get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trust me, if i can get away with it I will not shave them. I like her little tickles when she comes to sniff. The more I'm learning and reading about the "rules" the more it gets me thinking.
That really surprises me. Next dog show I watch on TV I am searching for wiskers and going to yell "DISQUALIFIED" if I see a straggling hair!
Not really just poking fun.
I did not know that was something that was done. I too would love to show someday in the distant future.... but wow I hope that rule changes by then because that seems a bit odd to me.
When we went to the bully meetup a couple weeks ago they did a demonstration on grooming. It included the grooming specific to showing. She showed us that they shave (using a little electric trim razor) the wiskers and trim the hair inside the ears.
This whole whisker shaving thing seems a little odd to me too! He is going to keep his whiskers after all we are taking his Easter eggs tomorrow! Poor Tubs!
