Well, I said other.. Primarily because Frankie uses all of those methods to get my attention.. just depends on his mood at that particular time!! :D

She will nibble on me
She will go find something that she should not have and run past me with it.(Shoes, Clothes, Towels, Remote controls, hairbrushes)
She will sneeze on me, deliberately, in my face.
She also bellars, like a cow, or bull.....not a growl or a whine, or a bark, or a grumble......I guess it's like a cross between a howl, a growl and a whine.

Usually, Castor will just come up and stand next to me, looking at me. If he wants to play, he will sometimes put his paw on my leg or arm, though. He seldom barks to get our attention and I don't think we've ever heard him whine.
