I usually put Rocco in the back seat and he just likes to lay across. I don't take him for long rides (usually 15 min max) either to the park or a friend or family member's house so I never really got into the whole belting him in thing.

Until a month ago, Castor was harnessed and the harness was attached to the seatbelt in the back seat. That worked very well until the clever dog learned how to unbuckle the seat belt. Then we decided to install a dog safety crate in the back of our car. Castor seems to like it and it's a safe option.
The crate looks like this 6678_088df308e99ee7c74b980b71b85aa0d7.jpg

We bought a car harness last week and I am glad we did. We just buckle Winston's harness to a cord. Kurgo auto zip line it's called, works well.

For now, since he's small, he rides in his old crate. He instantly goes to sleep, he rides with me to work every day (to get dropped off at daycare) he loves the car! I'm going to have to go to a Plan B soon as he won't stop growing!

Currently mine are loose in the back seat. I haven't ever taken both of them at the same time yet. I just ordered harnesses that hook to seat belts. I hope they will wear them.

Brutus sits like a gentleman in the front seat. Frankie is a maniac in the car and needs to be harnessed and clipped in. I guess I should belt Bruty in, :ashamed:. Lordy I'm a bad mommy.

Banks HATES the car and rolls herself into a ball under the passenger side dashboard

He rides up front with me or my husband. When we are both going somewhere he sits on my lap OR he likes to crawl up and wedge himself between my shoulders and the head rest... Not very comfortable for me but Frankie doesn't care!

aww poor banks! The picture I have in my head of her doing this is very cute though.. do you have any pics of this? lol

yes, I do.... I have it at home and will post it tonight

Ellie too ...if mom is in the car ...back seat she goes.....

We have a hammock-type device that fits in the back seat. It has places to hook into the seat belt, but we've never used them. We've tried clipping her to the inside of her stroller but she gets all tangled up in the strap. How do you keep that from happening in the car?
