I was just wondering if dogs can digest acorns. I seem to have millions of them in they yard and as soon as I remove one from Jack's mouth, he's found another. I have yet to see any acorn parts in his poop but I wonder if he ate one, if it stayed inside or got digested. I'm asking here because there seems to be alot of poop inspectors. :D

I just looked this up and found this on Google:

"You need to watch your dogs closely while the little nuts are rolling around. The
tannins inside acorns are toxic to canines"

so that sounds like a big NO NO as far as pooches and acorns. Best to get rid of the ones on the ground so Jack doesn't eat them up.

Good job cali baker on the info, good to know.

Wow, we have tons also from the Live Oaks. All 3 dogs bite them, but we usually catch them before swallowed. It is just so hard to keep up with picking them up right now.

Lilly & Bruin love acorns! I usually catch them before they're swallowed, but sometimes I do see some in their poop. Acorns fall all over the back deck...I open the door and the bulls are loose...and they each usually have 3 in their mouth by the time I get over to them.
