1 1/2yr old,neutered male suckles on some of his stuffed animals

Neutered at 9 months and has no other behavior issues..
Other than being a bit clingy,a 58lb lap dog,he's a good guy.

but he suckles his stuffed animals and I wonder why.. I have never seen a dog do this.

I think about half of the bulldogs here suckle, mine included and he's not neutered and 15 months.
There's a video here of a bullie suckling. Cutest thing. I don't think it means anything, just comforts them.

I have had several dogs, who were not Bulldogs, who did this. One of my Bullies does this, but she carries it too far, and once she had the toy soggy, tries swallowing it. I've had to take the "stuffies' away.

Harlea suckles on her Romeo before her afternoon nap and Brett for about 30 minutes before she goes to bed at night. In her crate she has her pink monster that she snuggles up to and suckles on as well. These are the only stuffies that do not get immediately destroyed.

Vegas will be 5 next month and has had this monkey for 3 years, he suckles it several times a day, but especially at night to calm himself.

It's a pacifying effect for our bullies, just like thumb-sucking is for kids. Tate suckles his stuffies and Finn suckles his football

he has his favs for suckling me ruining. Some both.

Its so funny to watch him. A big baby in many ways
