So my in laws gave me a home brew kit for Christmas and as I have always wanted to give it a try I figured I might as well do it today. If all goes well this will be a nice mild body IPA and yes I rednecked it up by keeping it in my fire place. If this I one turns out decent my next batch I will go for a salted caramel chocolate stout and get a much bigger setup.

Todd, my dear friend, I'm not at all surprised you have a Still in yore fireplace.

We had a good sized shed on the back corner of our yard, butting up to the
fence and on the other side of the fence a large empty field. After I had to go
on disability I asked Stuart to build a hinged window so I could serve liquor to
drive thru customers :)

Years before they opened the Beer Barns, I had that idea 1st...should have
sued them for stealing my concept!

Go Todd... Fingers crossed it works

You should come see the setup at our house. Hubby is a home brewer ;)

Cool deal. I am starting out small obviously but if this turns out good then I will upgrade to a 5 or 10 gallon setup with keg tanks, CO2 bottles and a keg fridge. Lol

My fingers are crossed as I have already started building my recipe and choosing my grains and hops.

Yup, we have all of that! Good luck! It's a science, if you ever need any advice or anything I know he'd be more than happy to assist :)
