Hi everyone,
We are new to the community and this is our first post here! Our English Bulldog, Winston, is 5 years old and was diagnosed with Cushings disease in December 2020 (confirmed with ACTH test and ultrasound to confirm location of tumor). He was put on trilostane (vetoryl) immediately and initially had some good results, but his symptoms have come back full force Part of his struggles with his Cushings are his skin issues. He has calcinosis cutis, a symptom of Cushings, in which his skin calcifies and falls off. He is been on multiple antibiotics, creams, medicated shampoos, etc and nothing seems to help. We have an appointment scheduled with an internal medicine specialist to determine the best course of action moving forward, but we wanted to post here to see if anyone has similar experiences or suggestions for what we can do to make him most comfortable while we wait for his appointment. Our main concern right now is his skin… we are cleaning it and putting neosporin but we are unsure if there’s more we can do for him. We are also open to any other suggestions and/or advice others may have for treating Cushings in general.
Thank you all SO much!
