It's still to early in Wisconsin to do much planting yet. But the weather has been nice enough to bring on the urge to get out and do some yard work. So this weekend we decided to tackle building a patio for our fire pit/chimenia. We are loving the results. It will be even nicer once the plants can be planted around it.

Our compass garden in the front yard is starting to look pretty again. This early spring sure has us spoiled.

What a lovely space, Lari! I can't wait to see how your patio will look. It already looks nice the way it is.

that is awesome. I love fire-pits outside and I am sure in WI you will get more use out of one than here in FL. Now you will need to posts pictures once the flowers are ready.

Thats amazing! I love the setup! Cant wait to see the garden

GREAT JOB!!! When is the EBN picnic?? :D

We leveled the ground and put down a layer of sand on Saturday. Overnight it had rained which worked to our advantage by settling the sand a highlighting the hills and valleys of the layout. Then Sunday we re-levelled the sand and laid the bricks. I kept Lari supplied with bricks and did a final level of the sand as she placed the bricks. Teamwork! lol

Here is a couple more pix of the finished patio

So what plans for the area accross the path?

You and Lari have done a brilliant job BTW...Love it :heart:

If you just glance real quick...it looks like Lari is holding a puppy because of her t-shirt. I did a double take LOL

We haven't quite decided how to finish that area off. But something will come to me soon I'm sure. ;)

That's hard work doing all of that! It looks awesome....professionally laid brick!

Now, that arbor thing in the background with the gate? Um....I don't think you need that anymore with this fancy patio so I'm happy to come on over this weekend and pick it up....take it off your hands. No thanks are necessary. I'm happy to do it. :D

You are so kind Vicaroo1000. :p

Got it at Harbor Freight several years ago and it matches the filagree of our gazebo. We need the gate so that HRH can't reach the deck and have access to the pond..... like she is going to go swimming... (that'll be the day) LOL
