Walley-Bubba has some kind of eye ithing going on?

He had a similar issue in the other eye a few months back and that eventually cleared itself up. It doesn't seem to be causing him any discomfort. But every now and then he closes the eye like he's winking at me I'm keeping it cleaned out with a warm, damp cloth followed by a dry paper towel when I clean his folds in the mornings and evenings. It's not dry eye (more wet than dry) and he doesn't seem to have any symptoms of cherry eye either. Should I be worried? Any suggestions for treating this?

Maybe he has an eyelash scratching his eye..don't wait too long to have it checked. It can cause ulcers in the eye and those can be awful! Hope he's better soon!

Be careful when cleaning his eyes, I wouldn't use paper towels (too rough) I clean hooch's eyes with a warm washcloth everyday as well as clean his folds with it as well. Then I dry his face and folds with a dry washcloth. He is seven, has bad allergies, and constant eye goo. Since I started him back on his benadryl daily and maintain his face, folds, ears, eyes, and feet on a daily basis, his eyes seem to be less of a problem and he seems a lot more comfortable.His non-grain diet since to be helping also, cut down on yeast infections in his ears and folds. Vet is the one who told me not to use paper towels near his eyes. I also use natural tears to help flush out his eyes if he gets that whitish discharge in his eyes. It's possibly allergies if his eyes are watering excessively, but [MENTION=2092]JAKEISGREAT[/MENTION] is right it could be lashes inside his eyelid rubbing on his eye. These can cause slight irritation but can also cause ulcers that can get nasty quickly if left untreated. My Billy has unfortunately had 2 ulcers and they are very painful. For this reason I would advise a quick trip to the vets...they will put dye in his eye that will show up any scratches or ulcers. IMO it's always better to be safe when it comes to the eyes xx

Thanks for the advice everyone. I am suspecting allergies. Milk Bones GA shows lots of grain products. He's been on grain free food since he was weaned. The eye issue started shortly after I tried to reduce his diet to 1 scoop Fromm Pork and Peas in the morning and 3 Milk Bones at night during the week and two scoops From on weekends. Tonight he got a Milk Bone because the Yorkie rejected it. The eye issue appeared soon after his not. He's been eating persimmon leaves too - sneaking them down while I'm not looking - not sure what t do about that with gall coming on now.

Yes, I am taking him to the vet tomorrow.

I agree with the others above, the squinting/winking could be a hair, scratch or ulcer. Best to know as soon as possible if that is the case.

I would cut out the Milk Bones & replace w/grain free ones, possibly bake your own.

Definitely agree with JakeisGreat, check eyelashes first, most likely, less expensive, then move on from their.

Took WB to the vet just now and everything is fine.
The test they performed came back good.
And there was nothing foreign in the eye.
No Cherry Eye either.
The gave be some antibioticsTriple Antiobiotic Ophthalmiv Ointment and also put some in b4 we left.

That's good news. I just had cryosurgery for duchess about 3 weeks ago to freeze eyelashes growing inward toward the eye and causing her to squint. Another member had a similar issue and her vet misdiagnosed it- she then went to an eye specialist and sure enough the dog has eye lashes on the under side of the lid. I would watch closely over the next couple weeks.

We went for a follow-up at the vet's on Friday at Banfield.
They re-tested everything (Sharon is such a thorough vet).
Yellow dye.
Black light.
Eyeball pressure.
All perfect.
Will keep applying the ointment.
Eye looks better but still a little watery compared to the other.
Another follow-up vet visit on Thursday.
Then we are off to Stinson Beach next weekend.
And Carmel the following weekend.
It really is all about the dogs!
