Vet for breeding?

Hello,

I would like to get some other possibilities for breeding services in the Phoenix metro area. I am not far enough along in my breeding program to DYI. I have missed 4 of the last 5 breeding's. I want to consider a different vet clinic.

Please reply PM with suggestions and opinions.

Those of you who are involved in breeding your own dogs,
What method do you use?

Do you collect and AI yourself for the female?
Do you use other stud shipped frozen or cooled?
Do you vaginal, trans-cervix or surgical implant?

What rate of success have you had over the past few years?

Not in the Phoenix area, so I cannot recommend any particular vet, have heard squaw peak was good, but you may have more luck with another local breeder who can either perform AI's or is willing to teach you how.

[MENTION=1869]ABEBD[/MENTION] sorry it took so long to reply, it's been a crazy 4days, and I haven't been on here very much. We do surgical implants. We shave used fresh, chilled, and frozen. Our vet will do a sperm count before he does the procedure to make sure there are plenty of swimmers, and they look good. We also do progesterone testing on the female to make sure we do the procedure on the right day, and we usually have good success. I can't help you on the vets in your area, I live in Texas.

Hello,

So after many months, researching, testing females, males, p-testing...we have decide on now doing surgical AI as well. I got to watch it being done. Very simple, quick, minor incision...inject.."Bam"...and 7 puppies...

So my advice is test early test often, test males and females, and do surgical AI,
