UPDATE: Stella did great with her spaying!

Stella is doing great. Thanks so much for all the well wishes and prayers. I was surprised how well she was. Out bulldog specialist is one hour away, so I was expecting the worst on the way home. My wallet on the other hand is hurting. Didn't realize how expensive it is to spay a female. $695 to have her spayed and microchipped ! Ouch!!!

there as another bully there wth her today having surgery. They were crate neighbors for the day. They had fun visiting thought the cages while they recovered! Hopefully her recovery is just as good.

Glad to hear she is doing well and recovering nicely. We had a bit of sticker shock as well when we had Harlea spayed last month as well. I think hers was $735 or so.

I'm so glad to hear Stella's surgery went well, and she's back home and on the way to recovery. She'll heal quickly, my Blossom did really well after her spay surgery, we also had her cherry eye repaired at the same time. Vet bills and surgeries are expensive, we had Blossoms cherry eye repaired at the same time, and it cost $850.00 for both surgeries. We took out pet insurance when we got the puppies, and they cover 80% which definetely helps. Wishing Stella a quick and easy recovery. Give her bully hugs from us. Please keep us posted on how she's doing. The hardest part of the recovery time is trying to keep them quiet and not running or jumping for a week.

GEEZE it's crazy how different vet prices are around the country. June's spay was only about $250!

WOW it is amazing how the prices vary around the country. You guys paid $250, and $650 and above! Sassy's spay was $115 and her rabies shot was included in that price!!

Yes the cost of bully anesthesia is what I believe drives up the cost. I am under the opinion that costs are associated with geography.
