For some reason this summer has been plagued with skin issues for Wheezie and Abbott..This is Wheezies belly and she has been getting these on her legs and butt. Its flaky and gets red and raised. The vet has said they do have grass allergies but this is weird..Any ideas!!

I agree with 2BullyMama A rug burn was my first thought. Is she itching and perhaps rubbing her belly on something-like moving back and forth?
I would put some burn cream, or neo sporin, gold bond cream........

She hasn't been rubbing her belly but she's got this same thing down both butt cheeks also. Its always circular and raised and flakes off and she usually loses the hair on them. She's had demodex before but no active mites. She's never had this many spots at one time..

Christie H Since it is not from rubbing, I would get some NuStock and read directions-and apply it. It takes care of many things. It also last forever!(the NuStock) It's pretty much a cure-all.

So the vet said Wheezie has a skin thing common to bulldogs ,it starts with a C I think, forgot the word he used but its form of staph sometimes. Both her and Abbott are yeasty, which I knew so they are to get baths with sulfur soap twice a week..yikes for a few weeks and he gave us Genocide spray. So let the healing commence.lol

This summer has not been particularly skin-friendly to my boy Tate either, Christie H. He's been having all sorts of skin issues too--some bleeding betw the paws and his face wrinkles are redder and more inflamed than usual. When the vet looked at him all she could say was that his allergies were acting up far worse this summer and simply recommended that i give him benadryl twice a day. Seems to be helping some but i'm hoping once we get cooler weather here in So CA, the skin flare-ups will diminish.

Yes here in Arkansas the humidity has been brutal...I'm hoping like you that cooler weather will help.He did tell us to givd benadryl also..Good luck with your boy...We feel your pain

Thanks Christie, and I hope Wheezie and Abbott's skin will improve soon too!
