recommendations on a good joint supplement

so same topic, but .............. is this something that growing dogs benefit from or is it something more for repair... Or, for growing,,,, stop for a bit, and add again later in life??? or?

When I started Monty on it, I also put my dachshund on it (he is 5) as they are prone to back problems. I put myself on it too! Hopefully it will help us all although it has helped Monty already.

I get the one from mercola generally and just sprinkle it on :)

Movoflex soft chews are supposed to be good. Also, ground turmeric and ginger. I personally give my dog Acti-Flex 4000 which is a glucosamine, chondroitin and hyaluronic acid supplement meant for horses so is quite inexpensive, and 1/4 tsp turmeric. The acti-flex also has bioperine which helps the turmeric get absorbed.

I can second Movoflex .... I am using it for Cheli and it is helping with his arthritis in his spine

Thank you! This is really good to hear as my son is just about to start the injections. He's not thrilled about it and a little nervous but will be anxiously hoping that it works for him as well! Poor guy was really bummed with his diagnosis , and maybe this will give him hope :-)

I'm very used to needle's because I get allergy shots, so it does NOT bother me in the least... once he starts doing it he will feel awesome. I had to convince my hubby to do them, he was walking sideways down the stairs and now he can run stairs if need be.

It's better for your joints to get the hyaluronic acid injections than the steroid injections, but a lot more expensive.

Dollys Owner ive heards and seen a documentary on then injection. I personally would wait till there's more research. Seems a few patients got blind. You can also use it for cosmetic like puff up lips, remove wrinkles. It's also good for joints. Im the 1 in a million will wait a good 10ish yrs before using it. Like I had laser surgery 4yrs ago. Been out there for 20yrs. Waited 15yrs to make sure.....hey...you cant replace eyes! I like to see where im going lolll. Just a thought!

OH and BTW viagra causes blindness too. :D

i think you are thinking of botox injections for facial wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid injections (eg. Monovisc) in human joints don't cause blindness, but they also aren't that effective either for the price they charge. They don't really use them in dogs, dogs seem to get Adequan (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) intramuscular injections.
