Prednisone and toe splay?

I wanted to ask if anyone else noticed this with prednisone or prednisolone: once Wilbur was put on it, his feet started to spread out, as though they were getting flat. He "splat" walks now too - his gait totally changed, and he doesn't seem to be standing on his paw pads, his tender skin under his feet is exposed.
He can barely last outside in the snow to go pee! His feet get so cold!

I have been reading about how the steroid causes tendon relaxation in the feet, and how also this doesn't usually come back even upon discontinuing the steroids.

has anyone else seen this? Just curious.

I have heard of it, but never experienced it. How long has he been on the steroids? I know he can't come off them, but it might be due to the prolonged use?

He had to start the steroid in October, and it wasn’t long after that I noticed it...
