Peanut butter

Hi folks,
Is peanut butter good for bulldogs ? I'm trying to find another way to feed my one bulldog her medication. I don't like the sausages route. Too many questionable things in sausages.

Is peanut butter healthy ? And is it fattening ? My bulldogs need to lose some weight.

You would just need to make sure whichever brand you gave has no Xylitol in it. Giving just a little bit with a pill shouldn't be too much concern for weight gain. I use almond butter to give pills.

How much are you currently feeding? Normally, you could just cut back on the amount of food you give and then throw in a handful of frozen green beans to supplement as it has fiber and will help keep full.

I use watermelon, a tiny bit of vanilla ice cream or liverwurst to hide a pill

I use whipped cream cheese. My two would jump through hoops for it!

I usually use peanut butter. I get the natural, chunky, so they can't feel the pill in it! All the other suggestions are great,too.

Castor says cheese works well! He currently has to take several pills twice a day, and I roll up each pill in a tiny cheese slice. I just stick the little cheese rolls into his mouth and tell him it's nice with cheese and he seems to agree.
