Please Help Whiskey — English Bulldog in Critical Need of Surgery

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to this community because I desperately need help for my 6-year-old English Bulldog, Whiskey.


Whiskey was recently diagnosed with approximately 100 bladder stones, with some lodged in his urethra and others in his bladder. He is currently in a very uncomfortable and critical condition and requires surgery to remove the stones.


The estimated cost of his treatment and surgery could be up to $7,000-8,000 which is more than our family can financially manage right now. We have tried looking into financing and other options, but unfortunately, we have not been approved for assistance.


Whiskey is more than our dog—he is our family. He is only 6 years old, and we desperately want to give him the chance to come home and live a healthy, happy life.


He is currently on medication to help manage his pain and discomfort while we work with the veterinary team to determine the next steps. We are doing everything we can, but we are running out of options.


If anyone in the EBNA community knows of Bulldog-specific emergency funds, organizations, grants, rescues, veterinarians, or other resources that may be able to help us with Whiskey’s surgery, we would be incredibly grateful. Even advice about resources we may not know about would mean so much.


We have veterinary documentation and estimates available and can provide them to anyone who may be able to assist.

Have you looked to see if there are any organisations or charities who might be able to give a bit of financial help? We have places such as the blue cross and pdsa I don’t know if there’s anything like that in the USA.

Hi how’s Whiskey doing? Did you manage to get help with the surgery.

Weird question, i know people in the US have cookie sales door to door, lemonade stands, garden sales , maybe even scouts and brownies? and probably a lot more than us here in the UK have ever heard of.
Have you considered things like that.
Every penny helps.

That’s a great idea, I never thought of that.
To be honest it looks like the original poster has only been back to look for replies and hasn’t responded, although I don’t want to be harsh I could be wrong.

But regardless for anyone else with the same worries in a difficult situation like this any advice and suggestions are still worthwhile and I hope that beautiful girl gets the surgery she needs.

I see that the GoFundMe donation amounts have been “protected “. There was around $500 in their coffer a few days ago. My gut instinct tells me that this is a possible fraud. It wouldn’t be the first time, sadly to say.

I did wonder but didn’t want to assume the worst. It’s so sad that people do things like this.
I don’t bother with Facebook anymore, havnt for a couple of years but I remember a “heartbroken mum” posting about her baby being deformed and had set up a go fund me. She posted a picture of a little boy/girl that clearly had a piece of luncheon meat stuck to their face with eye holes, nose and mouth cut out! Most people didn’t fall for it but sadly some did and actually paid money to her!

It's a shame that people take advantage of these funding platforms. I also did a search on the name of the lady that set up that fund. What did I find? Nada. Which seems odd since she is using social media to ask for money. I've become quite a cynic... Always verify to the fullest extent possible.

My daughter in law has a serious and rare heart condition I think it’s something like only 7% of the worlds population have it.
When she was a young child there was only one surgeon who could operate and was of course in America. Her mum was actually interviewed on bbc because her condition is so rare.

Long story short, social media and go fund me had just taken off , the bbc suggested she try go fund me and they also made an appeal on her behalf. Even back then it cost thousands just for the flights and stays there for the initial appointments before finally going for the op, as we know hospital treatment in America isn’t free, so along with all that was the hotel fees for her mum and a whole load of other expenses.

People were very generous donating unfortunately nowhere near enough was raised and her parents just couldn’t afford to pay the difference.
To this day her mum still feels guilty about the money, there was no way to pay it back.. in the end she used it to take my daughter in law to a children’s type holiday place.

Going off track there but wanted to show that not everyone are scammers.
