Kutter (AKA KutterBug)
So, my Kutter is usually very skiddish around other dogs. He got attacked by a Shih-Tzu (of all dogs!) as a puppy and has kind of been traumatized ever since. Well, we finally broke down and decided to breed him. Today, we met with the owners of the female that contacted us. We were SO scared that he was going to try to bite her. Usually, he is fine until the other dog makes a sudden move. But I cannot express how EXCITED I am! My Kutter LOVED his girlfriend, Tico. He played with her so well. And they kept licking each other and cuddling. It was the cutest thing ever! This was the first time he was even slightly calm around another dog..so I just had to share :)

Love,
Kayla & Kutter

Are you planning to try a natural breeding? If so please do some reading.....I have never bred, so I'm no expert, but from what I have read i'm thinking that's not a good idea. :eek:On the other point of Kutter getting along with his girlfriend. I think bullies recognize their own kind to an extent and do get along better with other bullies. HRH is calmer around bullies in public where she is quite nervous alone. I don't see her as calm around other types of dogs as she is when we have met with other bullies.

Oh no no! She's a reputable breeder and I know a little bit myself. We are taking then to a bulldog reproductive specialist and having an Artificial Insemination done and then C-section for the puppies :)

And I'm not so sure about recognizing their own breed. At least not with our Kutter...he tried to bite a female bulldog at Petco about 3 months ago. It wasn't pretty! But he just loves his girlfriend :) We are so excited!

They are both so cute!

Delilah gets super happy around other bullies, lol. When we see them at the dog park she flocks to them and they all play together.

Aw! That is SO cute! Yeah, Kutter does NOT like other dogs. At all!! Even other bulldogs we've brought around him, NOPE! He whines, and barks, and growls, and tries to attack them! But he just LOVED little Tico. Makes me glad to know that there is hope for him haha

aw that is so wonderful. im so glad he found someone he likes. maybe it will spread to other dogs

Hopefully thats a step in the right direction for him and he'll enjoy meeting other new friends and/or girlfriends. But, my, who could blame him for liking little Tico. She is a beauty. I hope they make beautiful bully babies.

Yes, dogs do recognize their breed - may not be based on look, but there is some type of sense they have. I worked at a dog daycare for four years -- breeds tend to hand together and some breeds are drawn to certain breeds. Kutter trying to bite female at the Petco may have had to do with the female's dominance level or something about her body language he did not like. It might be a good idea for you or your mother-in-law to get Kutter some training --- if he does not get some socialization his behavior will continue to get worse.

I agree with 2BullyMama ..Jake has a Bully Buddy..and the way they are together is TOTALLY different than how he is with any other dog..including our own Dena..a non bully! It's special and it's important that Kutter learns how to socialize! He will be a better and so much happier guy..his whole life.
