Thankfully I purchased insurance for Otis at 6 mos. As many of you know already I have been going to the vet and specialist's alot for his leg/limp. What I found out today that I didnt know about my insurance is that within the policy year if you submit multiple claims and they are for a continuing issue you only have to pay the deductible once - WHOOO HOOOO - so in 3 claims I am getting back $600.00 that I didnt know I would be - SOOOO EXCITED! I love this company.

LynnA Whoohooooo! Congrats! Not only for the money coming back but also for being able to get an insurance policy. I preach that (much to the dismay of many members here, I'm sure) to everyone that will listen. Get Pet Insurance! It's worth it!

I hope your boy gets better soon!

I have Trupanion on both my pups.

A dear friend -- and her dog that I adore -- is going thru some stuff right now. Serious stuff. Facing a health emergency and having to make choices because of the cost - heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking. I don't ever want to have to endure that agony. Yes, I pay "a ridicules" (says a relative I hate) amount of money per month -- but the price of peace of mind? PRICELESS! I pay the hip dysplasia up charge too. $5 bucks a month. If Bea ever needs a set pf brand new titanium hips, by god we're gonna get her some.

Amen! We learned the hard way, but it was a lesson well learned and like I said before, I will stand on my soap box to preach to anyone that will listen and learn from our costly (over $3000) mistake.

Amen! My husband was horrified at first but I said you never know with a bulldog - well he is some happy now - we have received back in claims payments three times what we pay for the insurance.

BTW, Otis with loads of tough love this past week to include: no more getting up on couch, no going up stairs (Momma has been camping out in the living room with him), no playing, jumping or rough housing - we have seen some improvement in his limp - we have further to go but I am happy we are on the road to mending.

I will say a prayer for your friend and their dog. I agree, I don't care what anyone say's peace of mind is priceless. Where would we be today with out this, I'd rather not even ponder that.

That is FANTASTIC! Especially since I have Pet Plan too, lol ;). Luckily, we haven't had to use it, but we also learned the hard way after $8000. It's so nice to have that peace of mind. I'm glad Otis is doing better :2thumbs:
