Welcome to the June 2013 Fromm Family Foods Contest!

If this is the first page you are viewing on our forum, then I really must tell you more about our site before you go! We have a lot of fun here with many events, discussions, daily "Bully" poll, and articles. We welcome all members or if you have a question about your bully's health or care, we are happy to give whatever advice and experiences we can share. We hope you check out all our different forums and share your bully experiences with us!

About this contest:

This months contest is going to test your writing skills along with your feelings toward your beloved bully(s)! Your subject is your bulldogs, so write them a poem, either to them or about them, in any poetry form.

Rules:

• Your poem must have the name(s) of the bulldogs you are writing about in it somewhere at least once.
• Please keep your poem under 500 words
• Don't forget your poem's TITLE!
• Only one poem per user please! If you submit more than one poem we will only enter the first poem submitted.
• All Bulldog moms, dads, and family members are welcome to enter our contest
• After June 22, 2013 we will no longer accept entries.
• All poems will be posted within the 4 Paw Members board, and the 4 Paw Members will vote for their favorite entries until the last day of that month.
• Winner will be announced on July 1, 2013.
• Once you enter your poem in this contest you are giving English Bulldog News and Fromm Family Foods permission to publish it on their website and newsletter correspondence, and possible future items such as calendars and greeting cards.
• Your poem must belong to you. Copyright laws forbid you from entering any material that was not written by you in your own words.
• You must be a registered member of English Bulldog News and submit your poem by replying to this topic.
• We apolgize but the contest winner must reside in the USA or Canada
• If you reside outside of the USA or Canada and you win, we will have the prize sent to any English Bulldog Rescue of winners choice in the USA or Canada.

Winner of this contest will receive the following prizes:

• A 26lb Bag of Fromm's new Grain Free formula, Pork & Peas!
• Poem will be featured on our Home Page for one month
• The top voted on poems submitted will appear in our Bulldog Poetry section
• Poem will appear in our monthly newsletter

Just wrote this last week about Sally. It's my first poem ever.

USED

Used for breeding, you produced.

Year after year you produced,
until you could produce no more.

Left to wonder I did, all those years you were used,
used for breeding, how many did you produce?

Used for breeding, you produced.

Were you touched? Were you loved?

Touched you were, and loved you were,
by all those many babies you produced.

Used for breeding, you produced.

Left at the shelter you were…..why oh why,
because you got old and could not produce.

Left to a life unknown, a life with no touch, a life of no love,
from the only life you once knew, a life that produced.

Used for breeding, you produced.
Where did you come from I asked myself?

It didn’t matter really, because now you could no longer produce.

One sunny day in May, I scooped you up,
to a life now filled with endless touch and love!

Why did you come to us I asked myself?
Why? Because you were used for breeding and could not produce.

No longer needed to produce,
you were left to a life of uncertainty.

You produced and you were used, but now,
YOU are needed, YOU are touched and YOU are loved - for life!

And no longer are you used for breeding to produce.

[Wilsons Mom]

WILSON THE ADORABULL


My loyal companion, my little furry friend
From early morning till nights end


Excited to see me, he shows off his strut
He waddles all over and wiggles his butt


His smushed in face only a mother could love
But Wilsons really a fur angel sent from above


The snoring, the grunting, and all of the drool
I wouldn't change any of it, I would be a fool


The protruding jaw and teeth that bring fear
When in reality, he's like a mini teddy bear


Those big brown eyes that captured my heart
And then there's always the continuous fart


It's what makes him him, It's what I love most
For this he deserves a bulldog toast


Cheers to you my wrinkly four legged friend
May this relationship never end


I will love you and that face everyday of your life
Even when you're just causing me strife


I will watch you grow and see you shine
And look at you proudly for you are mine


For this I am grateful, I'm forever yours
My heart will always hold your paws

My Magical Bully Tour....


How do I put into words what that Bully of mine means?
Is it his eyes...that face.. his kissing spot? That huge heart of gold?
Does he even know how his life with us has found its way..
Or that he is leading us through a magical Bully tour.
The road has passed so many milestones
Where did two years go, I wonder in total disbelief.
I remember vaguely, the 2 am potty breaks..
That tiny bundle of goof..you know the goof of which I speak.
The goof that twists its tentacles firmly around your heart.
The heart that is afraid ohhh so afraid to breathe.
After all, how can you love him... this much?
You barely remember, the chewed up parts of your life.
You know...when my rugs all had corners.
Those books, cat scratchers and ohhh ya..pillow shams
It wasn't his fault, after all, who left them in their proper places?
The bags of bark and don't forget the middle of night barfs!
Sleep is soooo overrated and extra money? Who cares..!
Who decided THIS family needed THAT Bully?
Jake was sent here on a mission..of this I am certain.
To ease our load in a year of heartbreak. To force a smile every day.
He has loved me through and through and back again.
He knows how to lick my tears and he's a wonderful listener.
He was responsible for my grandson's first sentence.."No Jake Nooo"
Jake never, ever tells my secrets..nope, not even one.
I will treasure him forever and a day.
I am sure THIS magical Bully tour has barely just begun...
Most of all, you see, I KNOW Jake IS Great...

She snorts and farts
and makes window nose-art.

and never silently sleeps.

It's the best part of the day
when big bully kisses slob my way.

her bully appetite is never fully fed.

bumping, smacking, and tossing her prey,
Toys beware!

A bark, a paw, a growl, a wiggle,
Throw it mom! Work, don't giggle!

Like the puppy you are.
Never once was I afraid
that you would leave me a scar.

The day finally came

Through the Eyes ofTwo Bullies​

The bullies that I speak of both have four large, gigantic feet.
Their dark eyes are like pools that will grab you like jewels.
They come when you call, if they want to be hugged, tugged or hauled.
They are not very tall, but they have such a ball.
They run in tandem…. most likely from the vacuum.
The carpets they shred, to make a good bed.
Their path of destruction is their sure way of seduction.
The house is their house; they allow me to room, to come when they call, which is most likely by noon.
They eat, sleep and play all through the day; and look at you smart, when you complain if they fart.
These bullies that I speak of always steal the blankets and sheets; they train you to be just what they expect to see….their parents who are compassionate and care; when they look, sit and stare.
The destruction I have seen has not always been so keen but when I look into those eyes that grab you like jewels what I actually see is my two jewels…..Amber and Ruby……my life time of jewels.
