Yes, I believe IT is happening, Mr Brutie is working his bully magic
on Hubby. I was ill this last week and finally (grudgingly, as I don't
like him 'looking' at pricey dog food and thinking 'thoughts') sent him
to Petsmart to p/some up.
Hubby came back with TWO muscle shirts and a Bulldog Book for me!
This...is...huge!
Hubby did not grow up with dogs, cats or anything else, his Mom was
OCD and didn't like animals, especially cats! When our son was 3, I
got him an adorable mix breed puppy. We had to rehome him when we
moved and had to rent an apartment-no pet rule! When we relocated
again 2 years later, we moved into a house that had rats running along
the back fence, then we started seeing baby snakes, then found one
crawling in under doorframe...Momma got cats! No more snakes, rats,
or squirrels, birds disappeared too
those kittens were natural born
killers! Hubby soon liked the cats, a couple years later a stray came up
and was such a sweet, beautiful, loving little thing, he finally gave into
real love for an animal...she is now 12 and long the, Diva of our house!
Cut to 6 weeks ago- I drove 4 hours to p/up Mr Brutie-not the puppy I
wanted, for my 1st bully and NOT the breed Hubby wanted at all, he'd
heard the horror stories and knew 1st hand the $$$ spent on Kristi's 5
y/o bully, Bruzer...she also counseled against getting one.
Mr Brutie climbed up into my truck, settled between Mother & me and
we started the 4 hour trip home, it was a hot (105*, index of 111*) and
very humid day, a very long day but we made it home, Mr Brutie, nary
a peep of protest, perfect manners & obdience.
It's taken 6 weeks however Hubby works 2 weeks out of town to 1 week
home and very busy when home...we're still moving in to this home.
Hubby has never bought a dog, clothes before and I've taken in lots in our
26 years together, a few bought & paid for, purebreds along the way.
Yes, Mr Brutie has worked his magic within Hubby's heart.
We are a forever family
