How many times do you have to call your bulldog before they come?

You hit the nail on the head with this... sounds like Nico especially with the 2 steps towards. What a funny take on it. Thanks for the laugh this morning.

I cant really complain BUT man days is like WTH.... im not use to repeat 2x lol
Im use to just snap fingers n point without talking and all my dogs I ever had would move.
This one days is like talking to a wall or kids or husband :w00t:
She's still young im not giving up .

Oh.....they're suppose to MOVE?.....TOWARDS YOU?....when you say come? In this house "Joey Come" apparently means stay right where you are, give Mom the stink eye, check to see if she has treat in her hand, then just stay where you are if she doesn't HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Seriously, Joey will come when I call, just not right away, I say "Joey Come" and once only, she'll think for a moment and come to me. In no way is this a quickly executed command......nothing is with Joey :)

Yup, the same with us.

It's probably my fault, though. She is used to waiting until I use my "This is the LAST time I'm saying your name!" voice. So now, it's a thing. She just waits and gets in her puppy play stance (face directed away from me), and then she runs to me. Cute? Sure. But, I'm not always in the mood. LOL

My guys comes the first time for me - but for anyone else in the family it takes a few times. Especially if he knows they are going to try to take him for a walk and he doesn't want to go he will go in his crate and lay there and not come out until I call him out.

With Diesel the number changes dependent on the time of day.

0500-0800 5X to him to wake up
0800-2000 2X
2000-0500 Ain't happening. Better go pickup and carry.

Even the title of this thread started me laughing and I couldn't
wait to read y'all's replies ;)

Cami is no different, does her own thang at her convenience, in
fact, I have a chair to rest in on the porch while she does her
bidness out in the wild.

She's getting more bold in her bossiness too, now going into the
kitchen and BARKING at me to fetch myself in there, PRONTO, and
fix her sumptin' to eat...omg...too funny!

She just turned 8, we understand each other well, been thru a
lot of bad stuff, many unwanted moves & just lots of life before
sharing ours together, a whole lotta miles on us both. So, we do
what pleases US and to hell with anything else ;)

Secretly, bulldogs delight the rebellious soul in us all and make
us control freaks break down & laugh to be so ignored, PRICELESS!

Hahahaha!!!! Joey is such a Bulldog!! Love it!

I am pretty sure Frith's name is actually "num-nums" because she doesn't come to any other word or phrase. She will look, but her feet do not move until the word "num-nums" is uttered. AND there better be a treat or some food involved at the end of her journey--even if it is two steps. Some days she actually has to have proof that you have her treat stick in your hand or a bowl of food ready.

Frith does this too--and she is only 8 months. If dinner is the slightest bit late--she stands by her food container barking non stop. I swear you can tell time to the minute by this dog's stomach.
