Glad that vet thinks its just acid reflux !! What was Joey eating? Food allergies can contribute to this. Once Joey is doing better on the bland diet you can try switching to a commercial product. I would try to give smaller more frequent meals that are lower in fat and protein- maybe a dehydrated raw such as Honest Kitchen, Sojos, EasyRaw?
Joey will beA-ok mom,I have given the same remedy to a few of my dogs at times. We send our love

sisters3 I have always used the generic pepcid (famitodine). I would look at the ingriedients (sp,?) and see what the difference is, as compared to the regular, that you gave her. What makes it max? According to your statement, it is not that much different. So, see how she does with one. If needed, give her another a little later than usual.
Thank you Lynn, I actually CALLED the number on the Pepcid website to be absolutely sure (yes bulldog Mom here) They told me that in a 20mg tablet of the Maximum Strength there is 20mg of famitodine and in the regular strength Pepcid 20mg tablet there is 10mg of famitodine, so that is the difference.
Now I gave Joey a max strength this morning and she is tolerating it fine BUT I will have the regular strength in a few hours.
So.......if I give her a regular strength tonight she will have had 30mg famitodine for the day.
Per her vet "20mg tablet twice per day" but that only equates to 20mg total of famitodine........
Perhaps I will just hold off on giving this evening and resume with regular strength in the morning.....
Thoughts?
Thank you!!
First, thank you for your input and help!Joey has always been on kibble, Life's Abundance, with a little shredded cheese (which now will be OUTLAWED for her, apparently high fat foods will exacerbate the acid reflux. After going off the bland diet the vet suggested that I continue then to introduce her regular kibble back in, with the boiled rice and chicken, little bit at at time until we're back to all kibble. I guess if her symptoms return it's time for a change.

MAJOR UPDATE
I canāt believe this.
Joey continued having episodes, although less, on Pepcid and bland diet. Then this happened:
We got a bunch of snow yesterday and in the afternoon I took Joey out to potty. Well she loves the snow, started hopping around and then we headed up the hill behind the house. Half way up she stopped and started heaving......then she puked up this WAD of stuff I cannot describe! Fur ball? ISH......... Some rice.....
She hasnāt had an episode since!! Her nose hasnāt been cool and moist in days!!!
I am so thankful! Sheās still in bed so.......hopefully still fine.
I canāt believe it! Fur from toys? Paws? Who knows.........Possible that she was nauseated and needed to puke ???
Fantastic news ! If she's ok now I guess you don't need to switch foods unless she's exhibiting signs of allergies such as licking paws and scratching ears. I still think it's better to rotate between a few proteins if you can.
