this is a bitter sweet day for me, It wasn't long ago I lost a bully that I rescued, her name was Lilly and she was 6 yrs old, She was in very bad shape when I got her from ear infections to yeast infections to eye infections, skin allergies, the list goes on and on.... I was told she was used as a breeding machine and upon taking her to the vet he confirmed that, her health deteriorated quickly no matter what I did, when I thought she was getting better she went to sleep and never woke up!. we were all devastated! I naturally became angry blaming the vet maybe he didn't do something right then I blamed myself thinking I should have taken her to a specialist. Now I am at peace knowing she is and for the last months of her loving life she knew what it was like to be loved and wanted and God blessed us with her and sent her to us for a reason. Well we have all missed her dearly and have wonderful memories, and would love to adopt a bully again one day, and TODAY I get a call theres a Victorian Bulldog in my area that needs a home NOW!! shes 4 yrs old spayed, and needs TLC, her owners have abandoned her due to their finances they can no longer care for her so she was left with friends. So someone heard about My family and Our love for Lilly and called, I'm terrified to get attached again but I cannot turn my back on her, so I am picking her up first thing in the morning and taking her to the vet. I believe once again I was called upon for a reason. I had them email a pic to me & she looked a little thin. So I believe she needs a vets care immediately. glad to be back on, I was a member in the past and had a lot of help from others and just want to thank everyone!!

Hi Melanie!

That's so wonderful you are getting another one. I know it's hard..but at least you know you are doing a lot of good by rescuing another bulldog. She will bring you joy! And like they all say..time heals all wounds!

Hi Melanie!!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, but you have been sent another little bully for a reason. And I hope it's to help your heart begin to mend.

I can't wait to see pics of your new baby!!!

Welcome back ncperry, I am sorry to hear of your loss but bringing another bully into your home and heart will help ease the pain. As I am sure Lilly would never want you to be alone, and god bless you for giving her a great life with the time she had left. I think the avg. life span is around 8, so she was technically an old lady when she came to you, and I am willing to bank it was natural causes. She loved you, you loved her and that is what is so important!

Glad you came back to visit us, we will be looking forward to many stories in the future and lots of pix to share, big hugs! :hug2:

I am SO sorry for your loss. It sounds like Lilly had the best of your heart and that is the most important thing. Thank you for saving her and giving her the life she should have had all along. I am so happy for you to become a bully mama again too. Nothing helps to heal a broken heart like the love of a good pup! Please share your pics with us. :)

I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss. I know Lilly was happy with you and you gave her everything that you could, including your love. Now you have another chance to be loved by one of these wonderful beings! I hope she can help fill that hole in your heart. When you get her, let us know and post pictures! We can't wait to meet her and get to know you.

Welcome to the site. I am from Orange Park, Jacksonville area. Glad you are here. Can't wait to see photos of you new little girl

Hello everyone, and Thank you for all your support and wonderful replies.... My family & I just arrived home a few minutes ago & I couldn't
wait to let everyone know because my new bully needs ALOT more TLC then I ever imaged, I have seen pics of bullies and other animals in this condition
but never witnessed it first hand, this poor girl has been kept outside for several weeks!! and shes EXTREMELY under weight, I asked why shes been kept outside & why
shes in this condition, turns out the girl that took her in does not allow pets inside her home. Well she said she has been trying to put weight on her but hasnt had any success the last 3 weeks!!
So my question is WHAT DOES ANYBODY RECOMMEND for a bully that has been neglected this way? I WILL take her to the vet tom, however he does not specialize in bullies, and I'M not that crazy about him, so I did research today and have found that there is a vet about an hour away that is a bully owner herself, however I cant see her until next week, shes booked!! any tips would be most helpful right now... I know shes definitely got fleas really bad... and right now my husband is feeding her and I'm going to go bathe her when shes finished. Her name is Vicki
I will take pic however these will definitely be heartbreaking.... Thank you all any tips on helping me to get her healthy again would be appreciated, recommendations on food types , any information. Thank you... Melanie
