Hello everyone - I'm happy to have found this site! I have a now 17 week old English Bulldog and she's a character! Aren't they all? I do have a question ... she is not up for walking unless a whole lot of treats are involved. I'm making progress, and I know about the stubborn nature, but any tips are appreciated. She generally puts on the brakes and looks at me. I had a trainer come to help and his advise was clip her to the leash and start walking...but she won't go and I certainly won't pull her. Right now I'm tossing a treat forward on the sidewalk and making it a game of chase the treat. Still a lot of start and stop, but it's better than nothing. Thanks all!

Welcome to EBN!

Use the treats but slowly reduce until she just walks. They are stubborn buggers

Start in the house. Leave the leash on in the house n call her. Let her drag that leash. Eventually she’ll see it as normal. Repeat repeat. Then grab the leash n repeat with a treat in your hand. She might not like leashes. I use them 6-8’ long training leashes. :)

WELCOME!!!

Ha!ha! The Bullie shuffle! I've always had it easy-as I always had more than one dog, so I hook up the pup to the bigger dog, and then the little one wants to go with the big one! Do you have a friend who has a dog? :D The other have also given you good advice!(probably better..........)

Oh dear! I could never get Monty out of the driveway, brakes on and that was that, not going anywhere! He was 4 yrs when we got him though so well set in his ways.

Yours is still a pup though and you have been given excellent advice. Good luck!
