Help Needed! Hearing Loss after Prescribed Easotic for Ear Infection!!!

Thank you so much for your support and prayers! I'm at a loss for words about this situation.

Its not as scary as it might sound -trust me -all it requires its a bit of creativity
Sometimes ear infections contribute to hearing loss -it might not be 100%fault of the meds xx

Ill let you know what the specialist says tomorrow!! Thanks

Yes please let us know. Mickey is on Easotic now for an infection. I have also used this on Missy and Punk. I will mention this to my vet the next time I see him.

Sorry to hear this ans I hope the specialist has some good news for you tomorrow. But in the event your baby will stay deaf, like Pati said there are ways to train then and they live normal happy lives, so take a deep breath and we will be hoping for the best.

Nothing to add,,,, but more prayers and positive thoughts that you get some good news from the sprecialist

After seeing the Specialist, we didn't get many answers. We know her eardrums are definitely intact which is good, she has a little hearing in her left ear, and that she is not in any pain. As time goes on if the hearing doesn't return we will spend the money on the testing they discussed.

So our Next Step is having the Vet Contact the Pharmaceutical Company's on site Veterinarian. Hopefully they will have some instructions or answers about how common this is or what time table we're looking at.

I have noticed Stella is whimpering a little and does not want to be left alone. Breaks my heart.

She is probably scared since they rely on hearing so she knows what she is missing. Poor girl..... hugs and prayers toy ou both that this can and will be corrected.

We will keep praying for Stella. :pray:Hope she will regain at least some of her hearing. She doesn't understand what has happened to her. But, I have had deaf dogs, and blind dogs-and both. If her hearing does not return, she will get used to it. Just in case, I would start using hand signals along with you talking to her-and showing her what you want. Let's hope that all will be okay.:pray2:
