Eleanor surgery

It has been an incredibly rough recovery for her. We were at the vet every single day once she came home the tissue in her nostrils kept growing back and clogging her passage so we had to go back each day to have it removed. She wasn’t sleeping at night. She could barely breathe. I was doing steam bath vaporizer warm compress on her nose. Anything that she would let me do we were doing

She did have pneumonia, but we caught it so early that the stronger antibiotics knocked it out.

But here we are today, Friday the 20th and she looks and sounds and feels fantastic. It was a rough week a very rough week but she’s doing phenomenal. We go back Monday to have all her stitches removed for the real reason that she went in for surgery, which was to have a cyst removed. Thank you for all the well wishes thoughts and prayers. It’s greatly appreciated.
I’m so happy for you and your girl! You’ve been there and an amazing mummy for her, she’s a lucky girl. 💕

Friday 28th… she is doing great! Her appetite is through the roof as she now is getting more oxygen then she ever did in her life so she is constantly starving.. worse than a dog just wanting to always eat! We are even seeing so playfulness coming out.. small steps but so cool to see.

Aww that’s wonderful news, you must be so happy for her 💕

How is Eleanor?
She is doing great… all healed up.

Sadly I can’t get her separation anxiety under control. She is fine with most people coming and going, but loses her mind when I get home from work. Charging and nipping at my legs/feet, her jaw chatters, she barks insanely. I ignore her the entire time but it takes almost an hour for her to finally settle down. It’s so heartbreaking to watch… I truly believe she was never alone and attached to me cause I was with her 24/7 when we first got her ( I was on vacation)

Yeah! Separation is a problem, when you have a day off, have you tried doing exactly the same thing as you are going to work, but come back after about five minutes, and repeat it over a few times, just so that she knows you are coming back, and also don't ignore her when you come back in. I know that's the norm to ignore but sometime you have to think outside the box. May help

Willing to try anything… it’s my first rodeo with separation… it’s really emotionally hard I can’t imagine how exhausting it is for her

Is Eleanor the same with all the family or is it just separation with you?

It’s only me and hubby… and due to work schedules, I’m always home first, so it’s just me. I’ve done the five ten fifteen minute go out in the yard leave her in the house and come back in and she is fine. It is only when I get home from work or if I have been out running errands and hubby is home with her when I get back, she loses her mind not as bad as when I get home from work.
Like right now, I have been home for 30 minutes and she is still losing her shit even though I tried to not ignore her. I’ve been petting her, rubbing her face and giving her treats after she sits ; she is still charging at me. :(.

Wow! So would it be the same if Hubby got home first? When you say she is charging at you, in what way? I've seen dogs do this, but not for as long usually its 10min max. Going to read this a few times, there must be a solution to it, just digging it out hey.

We’re gonna have to find a way to test if he were to get home first… our schedules are a three hour difference.

We have a petsitter at mid-day and she doesn’t do it to her at all.

Charging… best way to say it is I can be standing a few feet from her and she will be standing there still and all of a sudden come running at me and try to nip/bite my feet.

She literally just settled down.. 2 full hours 😞😢.

I know this is a big ask, after a days graft. Have you tried putting her harness on and taking her out when you get home? The way I'm thinking is to break this routine that she is in, there will be an answer to it, there always is.

2hrs she is seriously pissed of with you, for leaving her. I think try breaking the routine of when you get home. There is an answer.

I open crate and go right out into our fenced yard… she won’t even go potty 😖😖😖

By the time hubby get home, which was about 15 minutes ago, she is exhausted and just sits looking at him waiting nicely for him to pet and love on her 😞😞

If she doesn't do it to the pet sitter, it will probably be the same with hubby. You are the problem to her, (don't take that the wrong way:)) She is alfa, I'm convinced of it the charging nipping/bite at the feet. Change the routine, another way is put her in another room when she kicks off, and when she goes quiet bring her back in, that's when you ignore her.
